Believe Out Loud (BOL) is the third year of the five year Called to Witness (CTW) campaign designed to equip and empower Reconciling volunteers to build relationships both within the movement and across ideological and theological divides.
CTW is based on the understanding that people don’t change, until they know other people’s stories. Over the course of five years, CTW seeks to build intentional relationships with 600 of the 2012 General Conference delegates in order to help the United Methodist church fulfill our gospel mandate to love all people by moving towards full inclusion of all people of all sexual orientations and gender identities.
Within the framework of CTW, the 2009-2010 BOL campaign is designed to strengthen the Reconciling movement by:
- Organizing effective Annual Conference Teams (A.C.T.)
- Building relationships within the movement
- Developing and empowering grassroots leaders
To accomplish these goals the BOL campaign seeks to teach participants how to:
- Build and work in effective teams
- Organize grassroots campaigns
- Frame the issue, including a sense of urgency
The BOL campaign is designed to work both with a select group of Annual Conference Organizers, as well as at large members of the Reconciling Ministries Network. In this way, the campaign seeks to intentionally develop and empower grassroots leaders, while still providing an opportunity for new participants to join the movement in meaningful ways.

Reconciling Ministries Network mobilizes United Methodists of all sexual orientations and gender identities to transform our Church and world into the full expression of Christ’s inclusive love.
