About Believe Out Loud

  • Believe Out Loud is planning trainings and events in all sixty United Methodist Annual Conferences in 2010 & 2011! We are learning to tell stories for inclusion, build relationships for change, and working with Reconciling Annual Conference Teams as they make plans to work for LGBT equality in their Annual Conference. BOL is the third year of a five year Called to Witness (CTW) campaign which seeks to intentionally develop and empower grassroots leaders, while still providing an opportunity for new participants to join the movement in meaningful ways.

    The BOL campaign is only part of the Reconciling Movements outreach strategy. RMN also distributes resources, works with local congregations, and equips individuals for denominational leadership. Welcome to Believe Out Loud

We are excited that you are journeying with us as we work to mobilize United Methodists of all sexual orientations and gender identities to transform our Church and world into the full expression of Christ's inclusive love.

Believe Out Loud is a campaign in which United Methodists will gather in fifty Annual Conference teams to tell their stories and join the movement for full inclusion of people of all sexual orientations and gender identities.

In 2009 we are excited to participate in our third year of the Called to Witness Program. We will work together to grow our movement by organizing in our individual annual conferences and engaging people in our work for equality at small group gatherings. We have wonderful fruits from our work over the past two years (see the All Means All campaign) and look forward to seeing how our work creates a tidal wave in our church of energy and action.

How Can I Get Involved?
  • Volunteer for your Annual Conference team! Email your name, phone number and Annual Conference to our National Trainers. Email audrey@rmnetwork.org.
  • Attend a training in your Annual Conference.
    (Dates and locations to be posted here by October 2009)

Believe Out Loud Organizers Will:

  • Create and Strengthen Reconciling Annual Conference Teams in 50 Regions
  • Train 1000 Reconciling BOLD Volunteers
  • Sponsor 250 BOLD Gatherings
  • Invite 3000  New People to Become Reconciling Believe Out Loud Disciples.

This Campaign Aims To:

  • Tell Our Stories
  • Build Relationships 
  • Organize Strategically
  • Strengthen or build Annual Conference Teams (ACT)
  • Strengthen the Movement for Full Inclusion of All People of All Sexual Orientations and Gender Identities

The Results Will Be:

  • 5000 New Reconciling United Methodists
  • 5000 Believe Out Loud Stories Told
  • $250,000 in annual pledges to support future Called to Witness Campaigns
